His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Center for Disability Research (KSCDR), and Mr. Raed Abdullah bin Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Elm, attended the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between KSCDR and Elm, held at Elm's headquarters in Riyadh.
The agreement was formally signed by Dr. Badr bin Saad Al-Hajhouj, Executive Director of KSCDR, and Mr. Mohammad Al Omair, CEO of Elm.
This MoU aims to strengthen collaboration between KSCDR and Elm— a pioneer in digital solutions— in research and technological development, with a focus on leveraging artificial intelligence to design innovative solutions that empower persons with disabilities and enhance their quality of life.
The scope of collaboration includes conducting joint scientific studies on AI applications in the field of disability, developing digital tools that facilitate accessibility and independence, and organizing expert workshops and knowledge-exchange sessions. The agreement also outlines enabling researchers to access the technical infrastructure and knowledge resources available to both parties, as well as sharing relevant data for research purposes in compliance with applicable privacy and data protection regulations. In addition, both parties will explore the potential for producing prototypes of jointly developed innovations and co-registering patents.
This collaboration reflects KSCDR's ongoing commitment to building impactful research partnerships and advancing scientific and applied knowledge in the field of disability. It also underscores Elm's dedication to expanding its social responsibility efforts by supporting high-impact national initiatives.
